Tripod CEVEDALE

Tripod made of light alloy aluminium, designed primarily for rescues in the mountains and crevasses, although it can adapt to any environment and situation without losing effectiveness.

Lightweight, compact, quick to assemble and easy to use, allows for a more rapid and adapts to any terrain. Thanks to its simplicity, it mounts and operates easily, with only 3 people it can carry out rescue operations in glaciers, crevasses, rock walls, vertical, etc

It includes two winches fixed to their legs for a climb/rapid descent. It also includes two cuffs-blockers, two pulleys, and eight carabiners of different designs, to complement the two lathes and carrying out these intervention operations in an easy, fast and secure.

Principles of operation:

The winch has been designed for the drum to rotate in a single direction even though you turn the crank in the direction of clockwise or in the opposite direction.

By turning the crank in the direction of the needles of the clock is achieved with a ratio of 1:4,5 (a complete turn of the drum is equivalent to four laps and means of the crank), generating a power of 1:30 (1 Kg force applied to the crank handle allows you to lift 30 Kg weight). By turning the crank in the opposite direction to the needles of the clock is achieved with a ratio of 1:1 (a complete turn of the drum corresponds to a complete rotation of the crank), generating a power of 1:7 (1 Kg of force applied to the crank handle allows you to lift 7 Kg of weight). The tripod has been designed and tested to lower or raise two people at the same time; standard weight of 150 Kg for each winch (factor of safety and inspection 1:10 under static conditions and 1:1.5 for its functionality).

Can be used under climatic conditions normally supported by man, with ropes semiestáticas that comply with the rule IN 1891 and have an elongation factor type A, or in case of emergency with dynamic ropes that have CE certification.

Users or rescuers should autoasegurarse before carrying out any operation with the tripod.

This tripod can also be used as a stick davit in emergency situations for rescues in terrain collapsed, but that requires a rescue team expert.

The assembly more suitable tripod it would be forming an angle of 60º between their legs. The maximum angle of opening of the legs is 90°, so that it is not recommended to use for cracks of more than 3.5 metres in width.
